What is Required of the Patient?
Though our program is easy to do, we require all telemedicine patients to do the following:
- Show up on time for appointments
We understand life happens. We simply ask for timely communications when someone can't attend their appointment. We will always do everything possible to accommodate a patient's needs. - Be Honest With Us
We can't help create solutions if we don't know what the problems are. Honest, transparent communication will only provide you with better treatment. - Mail Your Drug Screens After Each Visit
Per state and federal guidelines, drug screening results are necessary for prescribing Suboxone medications. All Suboxone telemedicine patients must mail their drug screen specimens within 24 hours of each appointment. This allows our lab partner ample time to provide us with the results before your next appointment. - What if I Relapse?
Relapse doesn't have to be a part of your recovery, but it can happen. You will not be judged or criticized for relapse. Our solution for relapse is simple: Increase the level of care necessary to help prevent relapse in the future. This will likely mean more frequent appointments until you've been restabilized.
Suboxone Phases of Treatment
State and federal guidelines require all patients to follow the same Suboxone phases of treatment. If you're moving to us from another Suboxone provider (perhaps due to insurance or needing telemedicine Suboxone treatment), our prescribers will carefully evaluate your prior Suboxone program to determine the appropriate phase of treatment.
- Induction - Your first visit. This is where you'll transition from potentially harmful/illicit drugs to the much safer Suboxone.
- Stabilization - Weekly visits for the next four weeks. These visits help establish a strong foundation for your recovery.
- Maintenance 1 - Four bi-weekly visits are used to fine-tune your Suboxone program and develop new, healthy habits.
- Maintenance 2 - Visits every four weeks are used to monitor your successful recovery plan. Patients who succeed in Maintenance 2 for twelve consecutive months may be eligible for bi-monthly provider visits.
