Headshot of Lisa Thabet, Addiction Counselor at Recovery Care of Columbia and Nashville Addiction Clinic

Lisa Thabet, MSPC, is a seasoned professional with over 21 years of experience in the fields of mental health and addiction. She has worked across a range of roles, from case management and program leadership to supporting clinical teams, serving individuals with substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and complex psychosocial needs. Lisa holds a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University and is currently working toward full licensure as a professional counselor.

Her professional background includes nearly a decade of leadership with the Tennessee Department of Corrections and the Department of Rehabilitation Services, where she served as Assistant Director of Program Services for the state’s Drug, Alcohol, and Substance Abuse Program. She later took on roles in case management and incident reporting with the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. These experiences deepened her understanding of the widespread need for compassionate, accessible addiction support in our communities.

Having found her calling in the field of opioid use disorder treatment, Lisa brings both professional insight and personal passion to her work. Her approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and empowerment. She believes in treating others the way she would want to be treated, with dignity, empathy, and deep respect for the human journey.

Also an artist and creative spirit, Lisa infuses humor, warmth, and a unique perspective into her clinical work, helping individuals rediscover who they truly are, not just who they’ve been told to be.

“Love to laugh and get people to laugh,” she says, “because it’s better than crying.”
